Children's Book

Last year I had written a children's book about quilting.  It's been sitting in my computer waiting for me to send it to a publisher. I would like to publish it!! I need to get my act together and get it published, but I have heard it is difficult to get a children's book published.  This is my dream and I hope that one day it will come true.

Pierogi Day

Every year my daughters and I make pierogi's for our Christmas Eve dinner.  We make cheese, potato, and sauerkraut.  This year one of my son-in-laws had joined us.  As you can see, wine is also part of this day.  We look forward to the pierogi that gets broken in the process, those are the ones we can eat.  In past years we would only eat the broken ones.  But this year my girls did an excellent job of pinching them and my son-in-law, for his first time, did such a great job pinching also.  Since none were broken, we just ate.  They were delicious!!  We only make them once a year, mainly because they are alot of work.  That is why the wine makes the day go so much faster.

T-Shirt Quilt

I had made a t-shirt quilt for my son-in-law, made from "death metal" bands he had been to.  I was told that death metal is heavier music.  To me, it's just screaming into a microphone.  The t-shirts are just scary to look at (as you can tell).  When my daughter told me they were going to sleep under it, I thought How?  There are devils and other awful pictures.  I thought (in my catholic mind) that the devil will come and get them when they are asleep.  So I went to church and got holy water, spread the quilt out, and sprinkled holy water on each block.

A Quilter, A Mimi, A Mom, A Wife, A Sister, and A Friend

Hi, I'm Lill and I am a quilter.  I've started quilting about 30 years ago, but because I was raising my girls, I didn't get back into it until my oldest daughter was pregnant.  Now I am making up for lost time.  Quilting gives me the peace I need within myself.  I play my music and I sew away.  After I get the hang of blogging I will post pictures of my quilts.

I'm also a mom to three daughters (31, 29, and 27) two grandchildren, married for 35 years.  This blog will also chronicle my adventures as a mom, grandmother, and wife.

I am fortunate enough to be the youngest of four girls born to Polish-Americans.  While I have some long-life friends, I am also having fun making new friendships.
